As some of you may know i’m not much into Chinese food.  I’ve even written somewhere that it’s my bottom choice during date nights.  IDK, i must have had too much when i was growing up, so my taste buds are numb when it comes to Chinese food.  but see, that’s Chinese food in the Philippines.  So i was quite excited to eat Chinese food now that i’d be visiting a Chinese cosmopolitan city, Hong Kong.  We got to Hong Kong quite early so we had breakfast … at…wait for it… Mcdo hahaha.  so i ordered something in the menu that isn’t available in Philippine mcdo branches.  presenting.  chicken sopas, Szechuan style.  yes, the chicken was spicy LMAO.

but at the harbour city mall…we ended up here.  crystal jade was super queuing, so there.

weee i like this diner, what a cool interior.

huge onion rings! and the breading is really substantial and does not flake apart when you bite into it.

our burgers, hehehe TGIF? naaaaah more like Johnny Rockets!

hehehe 100% beef medium well for the hubby ☺

our drinks hehehe my ♫milk is better than yours, better than yours♪ 😛

for a true diner feel.

but they have wet wipes LOL

at the venetian though this is what we had for lunch O_o busog! below is the hubby’s portuguese chicken stew or something

while this is mine.  oh ha karpintero si ateh Marge hahaha good grief i think there was at least 3 cups of rice in this.  beat that binalot! if you can LOL

hay salamat, crystal jade, finalllleee, hahaha neigh not in greenhills

the usual wet wipes.

xiao long bao…my dad said i’ve had this, once upon a time, but frankly i do not remember if that occurred in ongpin where my toddler years were spent or that restaurant in front of the US embassy, jade garden nga ba yun?
huwow, hang sarap naman, i have a pic of this half bitten, so you can see the soup inside, phhht hindi na upload, i’ll update this later.  this is so good! walang sinabi ang xin dian ti sa crowne plaza na ang mahal naman ordinaryong ordinaryo naman ang lasa.

i super love love love my noodles and beef soup.  just the right beefy taste without any gaminess.  and the noodles al dente!

behold!

naturally there’s always room for dessert.  gelato hahaha

just as good as gelatiSSimo ♥

hahaha what’s going to a Chinese city without visiting a happy lemon?

LOL the queue here aint as bad as it is in manila, thank goodness!

yet another milk tea, this time this fr a kiosk at the venetian.  hahaha ang chaka bobo-tea LOL

the next set of pics are from a side street resto who’s name i forget.  the ‘ambiance’ or lack of it, the quick service and good food reminds me of wei ling along masangkay street in ongpin.

but withOUT the extra hilo (nausea/dizziness) fr the msg.

this pic i snapped at sino center, just a few stalls but all dedicated to kpop LOL  yeah, kpop idols endorse soda drinks hehehe

hahaha eh ako na addicted sa milk tea hahaha

ahhhmmm, sari saring food.  medyo maski ako di na take yung amoy ng baboy so ayun we moved on.

our last night in HK we had dinner here.

it took about 30-45minutes for us to get a table.  O_o

but the ambiance

nice huh?

and the food was well worth the wait.  beef ulit! LOL

my rice bowl, pata with egg.

fried rice

and walang kamatayang xiao long bao hahaha

awwww imma gonna miss eating here, as in like the whole eating experience in HK.

not once did i get a head ache from eating at a chinese restaurant, like i do when i eat chinese food in Manila.

I miss HK, i miss the fact that my makeup doesn’t melt off even after an entire afternoon of walking and hehehe eating.  i miss the variety of cosmetics i can shop for here and at a less expensive cost.  i also miss seeing the ladies with their different boots.  it’s so trendy.  i like wearing boots, it hides my short pudgy legs, para kunwari long legged, hahaha melanie marquez? :p

As some of you may have noticed, i’ve been frequenting Shangri La Mall.  i like it there, there’s less people and laneige and lunasol is there and hehehe esprique 😛

but this includes hehehe great restaurants. it was my man’s idea to come to Cafe Provencal so off we went and here’s my report.

you get bread and dijon kinda mayonnaise.

theBenj’s order.  a two piece pork chop, very FINEly chopped, but quite tender actually.

my order, wow, this was almost orgasmic.  the salmon and risotto.  the risotto is super love! the salmon is bleh, a tad gammy but that’s they way salmon lightly cooked is supposed to taste like anyway.  it’s 1k plus plus for two orders.

recently, i got the deal grocer voucher for a steak dinner at the establishment particularly at the crystal room. it was a swanky dinner i wanted to give theBenj for his birthday night.  so here we are.

apparently, everyone and their grandma has shot of this chandelier but her’s mine.

but here’s the crystal room, it’s quite behind the establishment pub/bar type area.

a shot from our table, my wine and our tiny lighting.

my salad, yep, it looks as little as it looks.  sorry for the bad lighting, i didn’t bring my trusty lumix at the time.

my sea bass, omg, my sea bass.  this made me glad i went and got those vouchers!

and my hubby’s steak, almost rare, which is really how you have steak anyway.

our pistachio cake.  kinda bland but it was ok. this made me a fan of group sites, namely dealgrocer.  i’ve puchased another voucher fr deal grocer, the shu uemura 9hour class deal, so wish me luck.

Recently, my office mates and I were given the opportunity to have lunch, and we didn’t foot the bill.  not at the usual 7 corners, but the floor above, to Xin tian di.

the view of the kitchen.

the interior.

and a few of what i had from the dim sum buffet.

fried rice and dimsum, YUM.

the inside of this is salmon, i think and egg yolk, it reminded my boss of century egg for some reason, must be the yolk.  but this explodes in your mouth in juicy goodness!

more dim sum.

and coffee pudding.  which is actually not half bad.

xin tian di food was not terrible.  it didn’t give me a head ache as a lot of Chinese restaurants do.  however the service was really really really slow.  this mocha drink is actually their second attempt at giving me the hot coffee i had ordered at the start of the lunch.  this arrived LAST.  by second attempt, i mean, the first one they served was actually luke warm.  not hot, certainly not piping hot as i like my coffees to be.  this coffee was actually not half bad which is to say, it’s only half good.

over all, as you know, my preference is italian, middle eastern, indian, korean, and japanese cuisine.  filipino and chinese are hardly my choice of food when going out.  but i’d eat chinese food if the bill is shouldered by someone else.  i just won’t go out of my way and have chinese food at the crowne plaza if i had to pay for it.  specially not now after experiencing xin tian di’s uber slow service.  i think they don’t make coffee here, this was brewed and prepared downstairs either at 7 corners or that little coffee shop they have on the ground floor near the lobby, i forget what that’s called LOL, or worse, this came from the hotel kitchen, deep in the bowels of the hotel, so by the time it got to me, tap water is warmer!

but the Chinese food i’ve ever had has been in the Philippines, the Chinese  food i had in Sg was pretty good.  So I’m actually quite excited with the prospect of eating nothing but Chinese food next week when i travel again.

what have you had lately?

wow i wrote this back in 2008? it was also a sunday when hbo-asia ran this and clearly my routine has not changed as i saw this movie again on hbo asia, in its entirety, again. and most likely i’d do it again. and i feel the same way about this movie as when it first showed, and nearly every time it’s rerun goes on hbo.

ReviewReviewReviewReviewReview GATTACA Aug 11, ’08 7:25 AM
for everyone

Category: Movies
Genre: Science Fiction & Fantasy
it’s been about a year since i last saw this movie, and once again, like the creature of habit that i am, as with all movies that stick to my head, as hbo started gattaca, i sat down, started it, never lifting a finger to press to any other csi sunday special, and watched gattaca yet again for the entire duration.
for the youngins out there that refuse to remember anything prior to the millenium, gattaca is a story of a dystopic society, yes, dystopic, a little like equilibrium or the first matrix movie. this time what is wrong with this society is that if your genetically inferior, you can’t get good work, or anywhere in society. the story is the journey of a young man trying to get to one of the moons of saturn, prove himself worthy of his parents’ love, to himself, equal to his brother.
i love the fashion, somekinda 60’s but isn’t, rather appropriate since the story also revolves around going to some moon. i even like the cars with the fins, fetching i would say, and in tone with the 60’s lunar, yet futuristic theme.
after seeing the movie a dozen times before, i can move forward in appreciating the little things that made me like the movie in the first place. how the real hero is the med tech dude that takes his piss, how jude law is actually the protagonist and ethan hawke was the support.
as usual it made me teary eyed at the end when the med tech saved the day. yes, i am a sap.
i like it because everything seemed so clean, not too noisy, a little like star trek or at least what i like about star trek, gattaca tries to be utopic but isn’t. the movie has cool technology but isn’t overwhelming that it takes over the movie. i like how the main protagonist, ethan hawke, triumphed over his own issues and of the society’s. it now feels quite insane that jude law’s character felt it was necessary to do what he had to do in the end for that really nice neatly tide up feeling in the end. but how else would it have gone?
if this movie’s view of the future were to happen, i would jump at the chance to make sure that my children had the advantages i did not. it is a physical thing, one would still need a soul or one would be a total bore. but i would go to a geneticist and pick the best parts of me and of my beau. SERIOUSLY, I WOULD.
check out the top 50 dystopian movies of all time, makes sense, gattaca is there at 25. CLICK HERE

and yes, naiyak nanaman ako when the medtech saved the day and everyday since Vincent (Ethan’s character) started at Gattaca.

one last – words of inspiration –
“I only lent you my body, you lent me your dream” – Jerome Morrow – Gattaca

hehehe i miss the format of multiply, you have the blog area, you have the reviews, you have the photo albums, but google, blogger is where’s it is at so here i am as well. so what did you do on your sunday afternoon?

Ortigas girl is back and hungry!  and recently the craving was for italian.  Hyphy’s along the veranda of Robinson’s Galeria had this when we passed by, and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for the all you can eat pasta O_o specially since it’s just PhP198 with bottomless iced tea!

honestly, let them serve you.  otherwise you will get satiated and may no longer be able to try out the other pasta sauces on hand.

this is the malungay pesto LOL, in fairview, it’s not bad at all.

one of the best among the pasta dishes they served, the creamy seafood pasta, very garlic-y, creamy yet the distinct sea food taste is there.

what none of my office mates liked, the sisig pasta.  it was way too creamy and oily, kaka–su–

the caldereta variant.  it’s so so, it’s semi sweet sorta with a spice bite.

and my personal favorite the pasta with anchovies, fine, tuyo LOL.  i’m not sure if this is on going but it prolly is, these restos are often offering these all you can eat deals, cajun on the top floor of the galeria mall was offering burger all you can for about 316, while chef’s the angelo is offering a buffet lunch for 175 (inclusive of soup, 4 sauces 3 kinds of pizza, a salad and there was some sorta rice.

woah, next!

but this is what i liked.  this is at the edsa shangri la mall.

they, too, have an all you can eat buffet.

but we had ala carte LOL

the peperoni pizza turned salami LOL as they ran out of peperoni 😛

and the sea food pasta, yummmmmm!

all i can say is, dang busog!

The Hyphy’s pasta all you can is on going and til the end of the month, while our trattoria visit was just last friday night, so you can check it out if that buffet is still on going.

I like Hyphy’s there’s free wifi and the ambiance is a little up scale without being too grand, just right for office types like me who want a relaxing lunch out with her buddies at work.  While trattoria reminds me a bit of cosa nostra on adriatico, hay i miss that little hole in the wall.  the food is great at trattoria, a little better than papa john’s.

Italian anyone?

i’ve been wanting to try this crepe place since they opened, i just haven’t gone in since for me the idea of crepes is either a light meal or desserts LOL like this one below:

it’s chocolate crepe with nutella (or was it caramel) and mangoes, so like fantastic pinay but a little leveled up by the chocolate crepe.

ahhhhh the savory crepe.  this thing is the bomb!  it has spinach and bacon but the filler is the feta cheese.

and donna’s order, strawberry chocolate crepe LOL it’s wonderful as well as lovely to look at.

the ambiance is lovely, too.  quite cozy.

the price range is nearly the same as cafe breton.

and here we are a bunch of chicks satiated with the mirienda we just had.

friday night dinner at megamall, featuring xoi vietnamese kitchen and pepper lunch.

next to korean and thai, i’m really loving as in really loving vietnamese food.  so theBenj and i tried out this fairly new one at the megamall atrium.

i ordered something spicy so i thought it would be nice to have some iced vietnamese coffee (i was thinking like thai iced coffee or tea) to soften the blow of the spice, and this is what arrived.  you’re given a pot of hot water, this ground coffee sifter and a glass below with condensed milk in the glass.

so you wait for the hot water to bring out the taste of the coffee then it will go through the sifter and straight down to where the condensed milk is.

a view from the top LOL

and voila the finished product.

to help ease the spice down.  LOL this thing is the bomb, so many bombs!  i loved the spice by the way, it was not scary spicy but just warm, it was by the time that i was half way through the bowl when my nose began to run LMAO. tissuuuuuuuuueee!

theBenj™’s order.  sticky rice. topped with grilled chicken. YUM!!! the chicken was so tender! my beef on the other hand was not really tough, but not tender either.

next!

the friday previous to this last friday oct 7, we had dinner a mega mall, and this time we had it at pepper lunch.  yey.  so much better than pepper steak (seriously i don’t get the appeal of pepper steak)

remember that groupon/beeconomic for pepper lunch?  the half off deal?  it’s not cheap here that’s why.

well at least theBenj™’s order wasn’t cheap.  it had steak and stuff LOL

mine wasn’t inexpensive either, but to be safe i got their best seller to see what the big deal was.

sizzling, smoke in your face, glasses, HAIR AND CLOTHES.  this is why you’ll never catch me at a shabu shabu restaurant or grill anything at a korean joint.

in ferview, my order was really nice, if only i didn’t burn my mouth and tongue in the process of eating it.  if you wait too long the greasy ‘goodness’ would not be so good so i had to eat it after it had just cooked to medium well.

today, theBenj™ and I are off to greenhills looking for at least one of these:

lol, i’ve been getting misspellings and wrong words on my phone and growing my nails is going to be bothersome and texting at the same time LMAO.

do i just live in ortigas or what?

where have you been lately?

Tatay ko oh, umeksena pa LOL.  as my dad now prefers to meet me at trinoma for our monthly lunches.  theBenj and I are now ending up finding these restos we haven’t tried.  and recently we tried five cows since their flyer says they’d be giving us free ice cream cakes for every steak meals something.

here’s the interior.  kinda cozy, barn

it’s quite well kept and i like the lighting.

our orders:

theBenj had the steak salpicao

 dad had the chicken bbq

 i had the liempo ribs

but the promo for the ice cream cake is only available per 1 receipt, so we thought that if we ordered the same thing we’d get three ice cream cakes hahaha, fat chance i suppose.

the service wasn’t the fastest.  but the food was obviously newly cooked and not simply reheated.

fair warning.  this is one of the maaaaaaannny restaurants in the Philippines that keep dispensing butter knives instead of serving steak knives.  soooooo, the lady across from us may have had her flu shot on her good arm bec she had her ‘friend’ cut her meat for her.

and yep, the liempo i had was still putting up a fight with me as well, and all i had in my arsenal was a stupid butter knife.  sa susunod manok ang order-in (doh)

all three orders were nothing orgasmic, but i guess you get what you pay for.  for the 3meals we only paid 663.  this is one of the restaurants that only takes off the 20% per senior citizenship card per meal.  unlike sbarro’s where the entire order accounted is for when taking off the senior citizen discount.

five cows is better known for their sweet treats.  so if you were thinking of trying don’t pay attention to my ramble.  i did enjoy the ice cream cake a great deal ^_^

now for my fave mall, mega (well that and rob gale)

i thought i’d be able to catch this.

i used to like kebab factory. a lot.  but last couple of visits.

i noticed the jasmine rice had shorter and shorter grain. ick

while the prices remained almost fine dining prices.

and then the festival i wanted to catch is only available mon-thurs.

good heavens, they had better be available on monday, hindi excuse ang holiday kung nasa tarp ay mon to thurs!

the all around sauces

 my usual sweet lassi ^_^

 theBenj had the lamb kebab.

 i had the chicken bbq

the food is like this… ang sarap sana kaso ang konti!  for the price.

but between this and arya at the podium, i’d still go back here at kebab factory.

it made me zamzam

since we’ve been having kinda mediocre food theBenj thought it best to go with me to moa yesterday and treated me, hero Tania and Dek for a lovely lunch looking at the bay at Abe’s.  it made all the difference.

scrumptious meal at Abe’s for 4 people about 3k, having a supportive husband who was even more giddy for me at the the face shop event yesterday and who treated us to lunch, while we yapped about even more korean guys, now that ladies is priceless.

Au-ghost pala ha, screw that, i haz this great man that can erase any negativity from any fandom, whether it be from new worlds alliance who can’t pm, to some girls being nega over my win, my broken mirror, (huge mirror/sliding door for my cabinet) to being mistaken for a guess store clerk.

yes, through it all, even the event yesterday, i can come home to theBenj.  my rock.

over all it was a good week, i got to find out who my real friends are, i got to see in a magnified way how blessed i am having a rock like theBenj.  got to be in a face shop international event, fair and square, no need for likes on a facebook pic LOL.  got to spend time with triple s philippines and i got to have lunch with great company.

i’m glad Au-ghost is ending.  time to clear the table.

PS.  four day weekend folks, i’ll wait for my pic from the face shop phils hopefully by thurs or friday it’ll be up

EXPERT TIPS:

-Swirl brush into powder and tap off excess.

-Blend powder evenly all over face in short, sweeping strokes.

-After use, close lid tightly.

my boss was kind enough to drop by target, which he claims is only a 5-10min drive from his residence and got me a couple of these.

a user error on my part that i am illiterate and didn’t read that this isn’t the foundation but instead a finishing powder. duh, the white lid and the fact that there are only four (4) shades to this didn’t ring the proverbial bell or light the light bulb in my head.  baka pundi na 😛  so he got me a couple of these.  one of which was kindly taken off my hands by my kind office mate, Leila.

both pots i got are in the translucent light medium shade, yet another sign that this isn’T what i truly wanted which is my beloved mineral foundation.

pls click the pic to enlarge the pix and see the ingredients better

what the powder looks like, kinda looks like a slightly colored mineral veil

blended out,  can you see less of the lines on the back of my hand? well i do.  this does have sparklies but very very faint.  and it also has that cooling effect the way the mineral aqua foundation does.

as compared to my tinted mineral veil…i had the original mineral veil but that was the first few things i finished off back when i started my addiction to makeup.  so i got a tinted one.  just to give me a healthier look than my usual sallow one LOL.  besides i also use the mineral veil when i’m desperate in fending of suddenly greasy hair and no baby powder is in sight!

after blended.  i prefer the line/pore coverage of the revlon

the revlon finishing powder is what i used to set my bb cream seen here below and

i like the extra pore ‘coverage’ that the hidden sparklies give.

i’ve been using the finishing powder from revlon since my bosses’ last visit.

Likes:

  • sets my foundation either my photoready or my bb cream
  • doesn’t break me out
  • has the cooling sensation that the mineral aqua foundation has
  • sparklies do NOT make me look like a disco ball, in fact it’s not readily seen in daylight.  only when a certain angling of the light can you see it.  (same thing goes for the photoready btw)
  • only $11.99 a bit pricey for a drug store brand? but it lasts 18mos upon opening and is 0.35oz
  • has a little spf but toned down the reflectivity of my aqua tinted bb cream
  • speaking of spf this comes with spf my mineral veil does not (though since 2010 BE has been putting sun screen ingredients even on their mineral veils, afaik)
  • no weird scents
  • as with the foundation, this comes with an uber soft brush, and is great for traveling since it just slides on top of the lid
  • has 4 shades
  • does not affect my makeup, it doesn’t cake up my foundation or bb cream
  • matte finish despite the sparklies

Dislikes:

  • STILL not available locally
  • OIL CONTROL : tada…3 hours, tops  in a controlled environment as in an office with an aircon
  • so i blot now about 3x a day now, instead of just 1-2 like when i used the MINERAL AQUA FOUNDATION to set

Will i repurchase:  no, not at target not at the duty free.  i’ll just wait for my boss’ trip back and send him the proper link for the foundation LMAO.

do i recommend: yes, for women with drier skin this would be great, imho.  the aqua in here would have a timed release function and just give your skins a healthy glow.  i’ll ask my achie at work how it works on her, she has slightly drier skin than mine.

what has been your setting powder lately?

ooops lastly, i’ll add a vid review of this later LMAO.  it’s way faster to type than for youtube to upload and process my vids LOL

as one of the 12 respondents to Shen’s Shout out for her own Clinique party, i got to be apart of another clinique party.  my previous one was with Nikki of askmewhats.com last May.

and today was Shen of Shensaddiction.com’s turn.  Joining her is her bff Jheng of iambrigitte.com.

Shen was sharing her wisdom with a lot of us, well, they both were 😉

treats, like last time, was provided by Bizu.

i like the carrot cake and that thing with the white sauce LOL.

the product display for their cosmetics.  it’s PhP1100 for their really, as in really nice long lasting lipstick…you know what that means for me, clue it’s two words and the first word starts with D and the second word starts with the letter F LMAO.

their men’s line.  it’s quite interesting actually, it’s something to think about for me to give to theBenj on special occasions.

Clinique’s women’s skin care, on that lazy susan.

today though, i arrived without makeup, i didn’t even apply sunscreen, lol, i’m bad.

so today, the consultant, not the same one that didn’t really listen to me last may, my new consultant, saw that i have visible pores, my broken capillaries, under eye dark circles, and oily t-zone! hurray.

so the lady used the dramatically different moisturizer GEL specific for oily combination skin.  and this time i got to have a make over. LOL, Shen and Jheng and others have pix of me of the before.  but generally i look like a girl needing a pint of blood infused fast drip, stat!

i got to use their newer foundation, too.  it’s the derma white bright C liquid makeup with spf 38 pa +++, i was deemed an ivory shade.  i forget the plummy eye shadow duo used on me.  but for lips they used the chubby in whoppin’ watermelon.  it’s a balm a very tinted lip balm.  i’ll skip this one =( it’s the type of balm that will form that white strip of line at the back of your lips at the entrance of your mouth.

so here i am, after having made up by someone else for a change.  the lady combined their pore minimizer and the foundation around my t-zone area to cover up my visible pores.  then just the foundation by itself on the rest of my face.  that thing is way watery, gossmakeupartist will have a thing or two to say about that LOL.

and without my dariya fringe holder, yep ang salompas sa ulo.

and now with the flash on.  awww i like this foundation on me.  it’s not reflective and looks very natural on me.

the au naturale eye makeup on me

it’s a cool plummy lavendar shade.  as a base though the lady used a cool pink cream to powder eye shadow.  i think it’s a tad cool for my skin shade.  and they didn’t curl my lashes.  they were banking on the curling effect, it just so happens i have really stubborn lashes that grow downwards.

our blooming Shen ^_^ isn’t she positively blooming?!  it’s what happens to a woman when the previous day she celebrates her anniversary with her uber supportive jowa 😉

and below is my achie, well theBenj’s achie ^_^ and the sexy legs, Jheng ^_^

i met Alice at the last Clinique party with Nikki and here we are again LOL the kpop chix addicted to makeup LMAO

 oh ha ^_^

one last shot before Cynthia, my sister in law, Alice and I had to leave.

oh Shen gave all of us a bracelet she herself made! ^_^

and finally, at the end of the day.  my thoughts on the foundation.  it sets after about 30mins.  yeah, it’s long.  then it does this song and dance number with the pore minimizer and my nose oils and it kinda looks cakey around the first 30mins.  then after another hour or two i blot and the oils, cakey-ness ends to a wonderful very natural finish.  it didn’t oxidize, didn’t settle into my pores.  it just looks radiant on me.  and i like cupid (the blush used) on me, very fresh faced looking.

omo, i was given a derma white city block anti pollution spf40 pa +++ sampler!  the full sized is quite huge so i’m glad i was given this.   i was given another mascara.  and a bi-layer makeup remover.

it was fun meeting up with the bloggers again, and I MET KEI!!!  she’s a frequent commenter on my blog, too.  i like how even her skin was to begin with.  her makeup was just like a cherry on top of an already flawless facial skin 😉 nice to meet you Kei!

and plugging: by the way, the clinique bb cream will be out next week at an srp of PhP1850  according to their OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE

how was your Saturday?  hahaha, the sister in law and i hopped in the F21 Sale <– my blog announcement there LMAO
Thanks so much to Shen for the opportunity 😀

naaaah we didn’t eat this all in on seating.  hahaha i’d be in the hospital if ever!

ah kebab factory, did the cook at the Arya (podium branch) move to you?  i swear from the time you’ve opened til now your food is just way better than the Arya at the podium!

theBenj and I caught the tail end of the biryani festival, home sick as we were (of Singapore) of course we had to take advantage of this.  i ordered the mutton biryani (which they say they don’t normally serve, they only have beef, chicken, and lamb(?))

and our usual sweet lassi 😉

then as a last treat, from my boss, we had a year ender at 7 corners at the crowne plaza.  last because no longer shall we be having these buffet lunches on a quarterly basis but will now be on a bi-annual occasion.  y’all have heard of the US stock market and the USD plummeting, right? so there.  hehehe naturally, i’d order the more exotic food, the lamb and roti.

a little miso soup and soy curd, the usual california maki with wasabi flavored fish eggs.  phhhft wala naman pinagkaiba.

last friday we also had dinner at Army Navy.  this has been making the blog rounds so i got curious.

can you say, bland?

bland.  eh well, if the people from the other side of the pacific (skipping Hi, of course) like it, then hmmm it must be bland!

i had the chicken borito.

theBenj had the burger without mayo.  hehehe may comment ba kayo sa seeds on the bun? ako meron! 😛

it’s a burger.  total cost was PhP395 one borito, one burger and a coke.  next!

and of course, we it was a friday night and nothing good was on (movies i mean) so we generally head to our spot where we can chillax and that of course is what i completely replaced CBTL for, it’s Subspace Coffee House.  not only can my phone get internet at subspace (whereas my phone could never do so at CBTL regardless of branch) they run thai and korean movies here.  and of course they play kpop music.

homaygha, i love love my dark choco mint!  i thought the mint would kill the dark choco and vice versa but nope, it was a great combo!

and theBenj’s.  maybe this is the way they have float in South Korea? with ice? like mcdo?

i’m pretty sure you can request to have the ice removed next time, my man is quite the western in gastronomic taste so he really liked the taste of the float but next time he’d have it without the ice.

hehehe i’ve noticed that beauty bloggers, from here and abroad also chronicle their gastronomic travels! what have you had lately?

As you know even before June ended i was giddy as a school girl that July was coming.

I feel super blessed about last month.

I saw Kylie Minogue in concert

theBenj and went to Singapore and I saw big bang and 2ne1

We caught the tail end of the ‘great’ Singapore sale

We stayed at a really quaint, cozy, comfy, uber convenient hotel

We ate heartily at a famous, over a century old eatery, lol yes eatery, parang malinis na ongpin kasi eh,

i did more shopping at the duty free

i had a blog giveaway and the winners have received their prizes.

Janine has even tweeted her pic of her prizes already, thanks sweetie.

and i await for the rest to send a pic of their prizes.  even Anne from Sigma Makeup has sent me an email already claiming that the miss taylor kabuki brush has been shipped out.  so Issa should be getting that in about 2weeks or less!

and on this month, too, i won a chance to join an airbrush makeup workshop.  I was lucky enough to meet Nikki of askmewhats.com and Sophie of beautynomics.com and learn about Glambox Airbrush Makeup

AND FINALLY:

as if that wasn’t enough, i took a chance and joined one of Irene’s twitter giveaways, AND WON!

and today my twitter prize from Irene of youtube and twitter’s pinkiecharm arrived.  a Mac Cremesheen glass.

cool! i’ve never owned a mac, i think it’s too high end LOL yeah kick me please as i own stila stuff, thanks to  Irene by the way, aaaand you’ve been reading my blog posts about clinique and shu hahaha LMAO.

mind you i don’t smoke and you’ve seen me without lip products so that’s the cremesheen one coat on my lips.  i like the feel, it’s not sticky at all.

and now it’s august, it hasn’t picked up yet, but who knows.  this august, the anxiety surrounding the final week of it is just bleh.

all i can say now is, i can’t wait for DECEMBER!  this kikay traveler will be traveling once again to Hong Kong with her theBenj.  maybe the sasa there will offer more than the sasa at Sg? LOL
