first of all i would just like to say that in2it is actually a japanese brand some of their products are made in thailand, it says right on the packaging. i did a search on just in2it and found a reviewer on ¬†if you read her words too quickly, it would seem that she said that in2it is Philippine brand, when she probably just mean that there’s a new brand sold in Philippine dept stores ūüėČ la lang oc-oc ūüėõ
the givenchy
so even from afar i can already see that the givenchy ‘morning star’ of a mascara applicator has shorter spikes, oh well i could be wrong.
before application:
after application

the how to use is here
the formula: it’s a really really dark true black slightly runny and smooth to apply formula. ¬†one coat should suffice or you’ll end up like me, with clumps. ¬†it doesn’t dry too quickly but doesn’t take forever either. ¬†it gave me a chance to completely coat my lashes without my lashes getting to sticky with the formula.
disclaimer: eye lashes, depending on their growth, have a mind of their own,¬†so when you curl your lashes they can kinda go where ever they wanna go¬†[e.g. just like hair on your head or armpits, sometimes the growth of two strands end up have the tips skewing into each other-tumuturo sa isa’t isa or apart – pa taliwas sa isa’t isa].
the promise: more volume and length.  waterproof and long wearing.  fiber free.  no smudging.  easy to remove.  has aloe and jojoba oil.
MY EXPERIENCE Рwith the ball morning star looking tip, it promises to reach even the shortest strand of eye lash on both inner and outer corners of your eyes.  my results were more on the volume, not much on the length.  and i was able to coat my lashes even the ones at the corners of my eye.
throughout the day: the curl didn’t stay up. but didn’t smudge and didn’t flake. ¬†i didn’t end up with my upper and lower lashes touching each other like i have morning i crust the way elf studio ewww of a mascara did to me. ¬†the formula is a tad thicker than my current love and fave japanese mascara [with fiber]-my majolica majorca lash expander frame plus. ¬†it was, indeed, easy to remove. ¬†it was in flakes though, on my cotton pad.
the price- PhP299.75 and available in department stores that carry in2it cosmetics. ¬†which by the way, is getting my attention, for the cute but practical packaging, inexpensive price and the fact that fascio [the other japanese brand i want to try out] got pulled out, hay what’s a girl to do :p

  • packaging, it’s small enough that it can fit in my makeup kit
  • the formula, not too runny with just the right amount of thickness that dries up quickly but not too quickly once applied on lashes.
  • didn’t smudge or flake on me
  • waterproof
  • volumizing
  • easy to remove
  • didn’t lengthen my lashes too much
  • couldn’t hold my curl
  • had to google how to use the funky wand
WILL I REPURCHASE – jury is still out on that, for now this brand interests me as the inexpensive alternative [just like etude house] to the usual ‘drugstore brand, e.g. revlon, maybelline, covergirl.

after my failed attempts in consuming my elf studio volumizing and lengthening waterproof mascara i just gave up.  and had to just start using my majolica. and BOY AM I GLAD I DID.

This is a rave:

the applicator wand

the effect:

The formula is on the thin side but it should be a tad thin because there are fibers or bristles or hair that go on top of your lashes like a¬†fiber wig mascara. ¬†this is the first week i’ve been using a majolica product and i’ve never tried the much talked about fiber wig so the little fibers i see going on top of my lashes as i apply my majolica mascara it’s something i can only assume that acts much like the¬†famed fiber wig.

On one side of the applicator wand is like a comb while the other side are like butter knife grooves hahaha the words escape me right now. ¬†why? because i’m just so suuuuuuuuuuper happy with this mascara. ¬†i was thinking if it’s just rebound from that uber awful¬†elf studio mascara. ¬†but i’m on my 3rd day of using this and it’s just hay, fantastic.

  • the formula, ¬†it’s easy to spread even with the fiber thingies. ¬†kinda thin but not too watery
  • this majolica majolica lash expander dries quick but not too quickly that it makes it difficult to separate the lashes that have come together, where as the¬†elf studio ewww mascara doesn’t dry on my lashes at all i think
  • the applicator wand. ¬†i first use the comb side to apply the fibers and the formula and coat my lashes. ¬†the comb separates the lashes then if i need to i use the blunter side to add more formula in lashes that i may have missed…wow this thing is almost¬†genius
  • it does NOT flake
  • it does NOT smudge
  • it KEEPS my curls
  • does not feel heavy on my lashes
  • no chemical smell
  • it’s easy to remove, well it’s not waterproof or anything, still there are those mascaras that even after you remove it you feel like there’s still gunk on your lashes? NOT with this majolica majolica one
  • save the best for last…IT LENGTHENS my lashes

  • i’m pretty neutral with the volumizing, it adds some volume as it should since haler it adds fibers on my lashes so i guess i should add more coats if i wanted more volume.
  • packaging – it’s so so but much prettier than most at least it doesn’t look daunting.

  • not available locally which will make it pricier than it should. ¬†this is a drugstore brand but i bought it in thailand and even there it was around THB550 at a watsons i saw in Bangkok.

so wait, Marge went to Thailand last year pa.  yeah baby last year was just a few days ago.  but so long as you keep this in room temp and UNopened then it should be good for at least a yr, 2 max.  and honestly i was expecting this thing to be dried up or something.  BUT NOPE, the formula is just like buying it new.

hay, i love this thing. ¬†i hope i find a decent seller that won’t mark up on me too much.

ReviewReviewReviewReview SHISEIDO MASCARA BASE May 18, ’09 4:30 AM
for everyone

Category: Other

makeup lasting on my face used to be impossible, until i finally succumbed to buying the revlon colorstay for oil combination with softplex and spf 6, which apparently i don’t even need to set! and it lasts and lasts more than 13 hours! i’ve got oily lids, an oily face, and lashes that grow straight and down. so if i was gonna get me them cat eyes from and be like the women in the star trek movie, i better have em good lashes!

curling my lashes is ok, but upon applying mascara, i immediately see that the lashes that i had just curled straighten with the cooling effect of the liquid of the mascara, so you know, grrrr.

there are few people i’ve come to respect on youtube and lisaz09 is one of them, and she actually replies to people who ask her for real questions even comments(v) on comments(n) she knows that come from for real kinda people. it was her video that introduced me to the product so i researched it on makeupalley and it has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 and 83% out of 690(!) reviews say that the reviewer would buy it again, even if at $23 which is twice the price of regular drugstore mascaras!

having said that, buying inexpensive mascaras is no longer a disappointment and a waste. lisaz09 also mentioned that it helps her mascara not flake with the base on. my 2 max factor mascaras never flaked on me, i actually bought the shiseido to keep my curls and for the fuller effect, but it’s still noteworthy that the mascara base prevents flaking throughout the day.

i took a picture of my eyelash right after i curled put on the mascara base and my favorite max factor 2000 calorie mascara at the start of my shift…Image and video hosting by TinyPic

and took a picture of the same eye about 10 hours later after shift when i got home. sorry i forgot to take profile pictures of my lashes. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

after about 10 hours my lashes sorta relaxed a bit, but let me tell you the fact that you can still see where the lash curler bent my lashes is a feat for my lashes.

i prefer using my max factor 2000 calorie with this mascara base than my max factor false lash effect mascara, either that or i don’t know how to curl my lashes without making 3 strands of my lashes clump together or come to a point.

i got this baby at a shiseido store in makati, at about US$34 as opposed to US$23 plus s&h of US$6 if i had purchased it online. why? a bit of advise, if you’re gonna buy creams, liners, liquids, bite the bullet and get it locally. you can never tell when your amazon or ebay resellers restocked their pile so by the time your shizz get to you it maybe dried up already. mineral makeup anything, clothes that you know fit you, and bags are the best to buy online (minus the fact you can’t inspect latches and handles, but i digress).

bottom line, anyone who can afford this, who have short, straight lashes but love to curl them, should give this mascara base a try.
