89f88-p1030630-grandprize2of2MY HUMBLE MID YEAR GIVEAWAY – Open to Metro Manila Residents

I’m back to my bb cream review after about a couple week’s rest from applying any other cream on face apart from the house of obagi skin hydrating cream.

I got this free after purchasing other items from Tony Moly Philippines at one of the local malls in Metro Manila

this is the aura beam.  so hmmm it’s like a lip gloss

and here’s the bb cream.

i love the coverage of this thing! it covered the green vein.

and just like the back of my hand it evened out the my skin tone, and i hardly need under eye concealer with this on

and a pic of me with the flash on.  it’s not reflective and the shade it’s close to the shade of skin of my neck.

and my entire face with the bb cream and my blush of the week

Likes:

  • great coverage
  • shade match almost as fair as the skin of my neck
  • i hardly need any concealer under my eyes
  • lasts all day
  • does not break me out
  • does not cake up
  • spf 37 pa ++ good enough if you’re staying inside the office anyway
  • doesn’t pool up on my pores (where you get puddles of foundation or bb cream on your visible pores LOL)
  • doesn’t make your facial hairs obvious
  • so the last two bullets, i’m pretty sure i’m not the only person who’s ever experienced seeing your facial hair with foundation around it, what my last two bullets mean is that this is one of those bb creams that’s really easy to blend out 😉
  • semi matte finish so at least it’s not flat
  • locally available where you can find a tony moly store/kiosk
  • only 700 for something that’s 45 g
Dislikes

  • the aura beam, seriously it’s like the wanna love lip gloss! so it feels like your spreading lip gloss on your face with some really fine glitter
  • oil control of the bb cream is so so, i still have to blot my oil from nose about twice a shift and to think i’m in an airconditioned office
  • the god awful packaging it’s just like:

which kinda means that the bb cream will ooze out of the tube since this is an upside down bottle, so you’ll always end up with wastage around the nozzle and in the cap.  but i guess it’s the not so great packaging that kept the price of this aura bb cream low
so whatchatink?

And finally, I get to review this foundation.  yes, foundation.  Description is below.

the ingredients and in English.

the upside down tube and its spout, hassle.

and the watery product thus i call it foundation.

and once blended.

it’s not at all reflective, photo below is taken with the flash on.

and with no flash (still the left side of my face with no bb)

and once i’m completely made up.  i’m back to topping my face with my hg mineral powder reviewed here

LIKES:

  • didn’t break me out.  this is supposed to be for sensitive skin.  that means it has ingredients for skin prone to break out.  this also means it is gentle.   and that it has processed honey for topical use.
  • light to medium coverage, perfect for summer, doesn’t make you look too made up
  • isn’t cakey
  •  shade match is acceptable.  it’s a tad dark but just a tad.  my comparison is my neck, so it only almost matched how fair my neck and chest
  • easy to apply and blend out, it is after all quite watery
  • BUT doesn’t dry to quickly so it’s just right for blending
  • spf 30 pa ++ just enough for indoors or going out for a quick milk tea 😛
DISLIKES:
  • CURRENTLY, Tony Moly only has one shade, this is number 3, por Dios.  not even #2? for me?
  • oil control is so so, i get oily in about 3-4 hours so i have to blot the oil off my nose about 2x a day
  • the price for something from a not too high end brand this bb cream is quite pricey to think it has no pump!
  • and lastly, no pump.  imagine the price increase if it was released with a pump!  ordinarily having just this upside down tube is acceptable, but it’s just so damn watery that 1.) is pretty hard to control dispensing the product (which is why the pic of it on the back of my hand looks that way) 2.) it’s watery enough for me to think of it as a foundation instead of a bb cream. it’s only a tad thicker than that fake bb cream i love to hate, the Maybelline bb.
Do I recommend? – yes, sure, but don’t expect this to have the usual bb cream with all the bells and whistles.  it is a foundation with friendly to the skin ingredients and sunscreen
Will I repurchase – no

I had the privilege of attending Tony Moly’s product(s) launch last October.  This bb cream was one of the products they are launching in Manila.

Yey the snail cream that i’m liking a great deal is now part of the primer/moisturizer/sun block/light foundation i love love to wear.

It looks more like foundation but with the thickness of a moisturizer.

it blends right in, no gray cast, at least on my skin.

has light to medium coverage. photo below taken without flash.

photo below was taken with the flash on.  in my point of view, not reflective at all.  even at SPF45 PA+++

with me with the rest of make up on.  i topped the bb cream with my revlon colorstay mineral aqua FINISHING powder which has additional coverage

the next day with better hair and different lippie.

this bb cream passes as a bb cream.  it has light to medium coverage that doesn’t overpower the foundation you would wanna put on top of the bb cream which in my point of view serves as a primer/foundation/sun screen.

i wore this for two weeks straight, making sure my cycle would roll around that time of the month to test the snail cream part of this bb cream.  and well, i still got zits even if i apply my etude house snail cream 2x a day  (morning and at bed time) so i was hoping the extra snail cream in this new tony moly bb cream would prevent the zits entirely.  but it didn’t i still got zits.  what did happen though was faster healing.  my zits didn’t grow too big and could be covered by concealer and healed rather quickly.  not as quickly as when i was using the snail cream from the skin shop reviewed here.

Likes:

  • pump, a pump that works, that’s always a plus to me LOL
  • scent, it’s kinda citrusy clean scent, it could be strong for some, but no worries, it dissipates rather quickly
  • i’ll add this as a like: light coverage – it doesn’t affect the finish of the foundation i wanna use, in the last two weeks i used my photoready and my mineral aqua
  • no gray cast the way my missha perfect cover used to have on me
  • does not oxidize
  • makes my foundation last longer
  • finish – almost matte so other foundations you put on top would have a good base and any luminosity if any would show up.
  • does not cake up my foundation
  • does not get in to my fine lines (make them look obvious)
  • easy to blend, i don’t get little pools of foundation/bb cream in my pores (people with oily skin with obvious pores would know what i mean)
  • easy to remove, i don’t have to adjust how i take off my make up
  • spf 45 pa +++!
Neutral:
  • the healing, since i use another snail cream and i’m pretty realistic that a beauty product would have a less concentration of the live snail cream, i wasn’t really expecting this bb cream to be a miracle worker on my zits on that time of the month
Dislikes:
  • none so far
Price: I will update this post once i know.  it was not shared with us how much the retail price of this bb cream.  you may follow tony moly philippines’ face book page for further updates 😉

October 18, Tuesday, I was invited to attend a product launch held at Chef’s Quarter for Tony Moly Philippines.  It was a lunch event.  Other bloggers and a few Summit Media ladies were in attendance.  Lunch was served but we could already see what was going to put us in awe after our sumptuous meal. hahaha forget about the sumptuous meal, Jheng/Anne of http://www.iambrigitte.com and i were too busy chit chatting away 😛
