it’s only August 1 and already i miss July. for months starting may i waited for july super excited to see

some of you who breeze through my blog may notice that i have some big bang, 2ne1, and ss501 (specially kim hyun joong) and rain related purchase.  they’re the people i follow in the kpop industry,  there was a big opportunity for me to catch a double whammy.  to watch performances from both 2ne1 and big bang so i took it. thanks to hero Tania for the invite.  so finally, i had a reason to go to Singapore and it was a wonderful cherry on top that my man loves to travel that naturally, he’d go with me, like he did last year for bangkok (that time for ss501’s last concert).  ayan tuloy, we’re both really infatuated with Singapore and thinking of…eh alam nyo na yun.

Sandara truly is very pretty in real life.  awww she’s so slender!  while the other 3 where shall we say on the plump side? LOL may baby fat pa, ang cute!

sure Dara didn’t sing in or out like she did in araneta, but that’s alright, i got to see their sunbae’s big bang and then some!
more of 2ne1

This kid below is SeungRi, he hosted a family outing episode and at the time, the guest was kim hyun joong.  the kid below is the boy responsible why i liked big bang to begin with.  and i’m glad i like them.  they have a wonderful mix of rnb and slight hip hop.  they way these koreans have melded American pop culture into their own is just simply amazing and at such at a very accelerated rate!  EEMEA, Canada, and South america and of course even perez hilton loves big bang!

there was a familiar group there, too.  i’ve seen UKISS, 4 times already including last july’s show LOL.  i’m sorry, let me just say it right now, the two new guys that replaced xander and kibum can’t sing well live.

this new song by ukiss i really really like, and to be honest, that night was the first time i heard it.  but truth be told, the song and the melody just made me miss xander and kibum more.  and yes, that’s me yelling, wow dongho, what the hell is that!

but it was awesome seeing:

and

regardless what moe twister says about this group, they still bring fond memories (to which i will concentrate on) from last 2010.
LOL like this guy here, i, too, went to their showcase last year at the picc!  that’s FT Island leader, who’s now so buff!

Bom! i naooo haz bangz like you!

and here we are full of buzz after seeing 4 of the 5 big bang members!

farewell july, farewell Singapore, thank you, i miss you so much

hope to see you again, and soon.
PS
can you just imagine? how much i work to be able to see these pretties in real life.  but you know? thanks to kpop? i have amazing new friends from triple s philippines and other fandoms like big bang, i got to pick up again and continue a wonderful friendship with Tania and Dek, and thanks to kpop i’m still into makeup that led me to meet wonderful ladies online.
i got to see live

this is the original awesome vid

hay kakamiss

thanks to fuzkittie the youtube make up guru i was influenced to look for and purchase the most expensive bb cream among my collection. and i’m not sorry for buying this.

L’egere White Multi BB
White Multi Blemish Balm Cream
ALL IN ONE
sun protect + make up base + skin cover + foundationS for 24 hours, skin white, transparent, Moisture, and elastic

that’s what’s written on the bottle. ano daw? [say what naooo?]
finally, i get to this bb cream. this seemingly magical product to see if the women on the internet are right about this product.
let’s break it down, shall we?

Packaging:
Photobucket
it’s an updside down squeeze tube. after all of the bb creams i’ve tried, i think, for now, i prefer this type of squirt tube. somehow i have better control squeezing out the right amount of product that i need to spread over my entire face or specific areas.

The BB cream itself:
Photobucket
it’s a not too thick a cream. i can only describe the consistency as something between a hair conditioner and philadelphia cream cheese spread. it’s very easy to spread and blend over my moisturized oily to combination skin.
This smells really nice. a very faint baby powder scent, LOL, sadly, at least i think so, sadly, the scent dissipates right away.

The Shade:
Photobucket
it initially starts out a tad dark on my skin but then blends right in to what my skin shade really is.
it matches my skin. but, since the skin on my face IS slightly darker than the skin on my neck and chest, then it will still not match the skin on my neck even if i apply the bb cream on my neck. the solution a setting powder whose shade matches the skin on my neck.

Oil Control:
though it doesn’t really say that this formula is for oily to combination skin, it does slightly better in controlling my oily t-zone compared to my Etude House total age repair wrinkle repair royal bb cream or even compared to my missha perfect cover bb cream. the oil control of this L’egere Multi white BB cream is sorta like the face shop’s skin extra bb cream, at least on my face.

Lasting power:
it says 24 hours! Maybelline 24 hour and revlon colorstay this thing is sooo NOT. never the less it lasts a full day’s shift give or take a couples of hours. so about 8 to 10 hours with at least one blotting of some shine from my nose and surrounding area and one retouch with whatever compact i have in my purse.

Skincare/Blemish Balm:
it has not compounded the 2 zits i had while using this. in fact, i leaning towards the belief that it helped dried up the 2 huge a$$ zits i had during my monthly womanly thing, which is around the time i have those anyway.
Whitening effect. that’s kinda hard to gauge, considering i’ve only been using this a week. the only time i will admit that i’ve gone fairer is when the skin on my face finally matches my neck and chest.

SPF:
dude, unless the bottle / label shows me a number and at least one + sign, then i will consider thing to only the bare minimum of SPF and no PA protection, which is about SPF6 similar to what the revlon colorstay for oily to combination skin has.

Coverage: ‘transparent’ nga daw eh LMAO [it did say transparent on the bottle doesn’t it?.  doesn’t cover up my pores too well but hides the redness around my nose.
Makeup Base:  i’ve only tried this as a makeup base under my the face shop phytogenic powder foundation [meaning not with any other kind of foundation yet] and so far it made the foundation last and i only touch up once and only blot the oil once or twice throughout the entire time i have the makeup on (usually about 8-10hurs)

Photobucket
i had used the l’egere multi white bb cream for the first time when i took this pic.  so with the right shade of setting powder this not only lasts it will match the skin on my neck and chest. Will I purchase this again?: at US$29.99 at iMomoko.com [or a price starting at US$23 onwards] wow that’s a tough question. but then i have a lot of bb creams to go thru before i can justify another bb cream purchase. but I DO HIGHLY RECOMMEND this bb cream as a fantabulous makeup base or light coverage foundation for occassions you just super as in just can’t get out of the house without something on your face.

This weekend i had a very very very long saturday, that i nearly slept through the whole sunday, yesterday.  Last saturday started out normal, i went to class, but then i received a call requesting i go down to paranaque after class.  i wanted to go there with my husband so i waited in makati and walked around.

Photobucket

my normal stops at malls are the record bars and the makeup stores.  how glad i was to see that the astro at sm makati had almost all the albums of my one of my two most favorite korean male groups, SS501. the only thing missing since they started to bring these albums here is ST 01, their very first album.  so as of yet, ss501’s latest and last album (for now), Destination, is still not distributed in Manila.

Though i have both normal and special edition versions of Destination, i make it a point to purchase the TW version either from odyssey, astro or fully booked to drive home the point that the demand for kpop is here and is likely to stay for a long time.  yeah, i mean you, warner phils.

Photobucket

And while walking around the SM’s dept store, i saw a little kiosk for Doctor Jart, LOL, i keep meaning to do a review on the silver label bb cream i have since i really like that.

Photobucket

the sales lady was hesitant to let me take a pic of her little kiosk at san ka pa baliktad ang letter T. LOL, i said ok na yan, there are people like me that know the brand anyway, and there are people like me that know about bb creams already.  there are at least 3 variants of the doctor jart bb cream out now.  the rest of their stuff is still being passed thru our BFAD.  the SA said that their bb cream for men is already on the way and being passed thru BFAD already along with their other cosmetics.

I must warn though, that the 50ml bb cream is tagged at PhP1900++ while the 30ml is about PhP800++ so er, ang mahal compared to buying the stuff from your suki multiply seller.  but like i keep saying, if you’re not willing to wait for a pre-order, and if you’re willing to fork out that much for something worth between US$17 to US$25 (around PhP750-1000) then pay the extra for the cost of tax and shipping of buying this at the mall.

All the same, i’m pretty pleased that this brand made its way to manila.  now that we have the face shop, laneige, skin food, missha, etude house, vov, and now doctor jart.  let’s keep the competition coming.

Photobucket

and finally, what’s a trip to the mall without checking out the face shop.  i had seen one of my facebook friends have their photo taken at this very branch at the glorieta (next to mcdonald’s ground floor) and said to myself, woah, this pic is different from all the other branches.

xmaswish

i got to speak to the store manager of the glorieta branch and she said that they’re expecting items to come in from Korea.  items like calendars, posters, and tumblers with the picture of kim hyun joong like these:

khj-poster1

she mentioned tumblers and possibly calendars and most of all paper bags with leader’s face on them.  so very similar to what tony moly had done while leader was with tony moly. and yes, for now, the price range of worth items purchased from the face shop is around PhP800 to get a poster or some item.  for now don’t quote me on this.  this can still change.

khj-poster2

some of the items that i mention while leader was with tony moly are shown here on my vid:

BUT, BUT!

i spoke to one of the head admins of TSPH, the fan club of kim hyun joong’s male singing group, ss501.  i met up with the senior members of tsph as one of my last stops last saturday.  (so yeah from UPDiliman to Paranaque, to megamall, back to QC musta naman samin ng mister ko) LOL.  i’m afraid that the posters and other items from the face shop with leader’s face on it will not make it in time for this year’s KPOP convention at the picc.

so it is likely that the items mentioned will be ready by the turn of the year.  unfortunately, as well, the possibility of kim hyun joong coming back to the philippines before the year ends has become less and less.  the signing events will be at Singapore and to two other countries before the year ends. but the Philippines is not one of them.

Hello peeps:

I just wanted to make this video about the freebies that at least two Korean cosmetics companies do both here and abroad.

it’s also a kind of wish, hint, and request for other Korean cosmetics stores that has a hallyu or korean wave or kpop artist as their endorser to request their head office in Korea to be allowed to do the same here in Manila.

Feel free to comment on the video, here, or message me, so that they will see that there is a market for fan girls and that the competition is already doing this.

Photo Promotion for the face shop, korea

my seon-saeng-nim at work (and team mate) just got back from her recent trip to korea.

as most of you may know i am rough around the edges at work, school, anywhere, so i was actually surprised that she brought home something for me and i found it really meaningful and i am very grateful for this gesture.

behold:

the smoky look inspires me LOL.

this brochure, my good readers, is what’s available for free in korea. but i understand that the Philippine TFS can only import the most sell-able lines and what they think will sell here. but now that the etude house is here and going strong (and they haven’t been here even a full year) then some of what the etude house’s marketing strategies should be competed with, e.g. the free folders or what tony moly did with the free posters. and oh, bb cream naman for men please.

but just like what my friend said, she won’t buy from the face shop philippines unless there are free posters, calendars or even picture cards of the kid, then like her, my last purchase from the face shop would have to be what i purchased recently.

Recently, i’ve been getting questions on where i buy my korean cosmetics and skin care, especially the brands that are not available in the west and more to the point, the Philippines.i’ve edited and re-uploaded one of my recent videos to contain only stuff i’ve gotten from my suki kkchopida~Charmaineone of my trusted and reliable sellers from multiply.as you know, nothing in this world perfect, that includes even my friendliest suki, Charmaine.  but guess what, she makes up for it and she takes care of her long time buyers.i’d would just like to add that she didn’t ask me to make this entry, she didn’t ask me to endorse or advertise her site.  this is simply my way of saying thank you and for making me feel special.  that’s how Charmaine takes care of her customers, just check out her feedback page and you’ll see.

Products mentioned were puchased with my own money. I am not paid to use or review this(these) product(s) in my video.

This is available at watson’s and different department stores in manila.

I’ve written a review on this bb cream last year, here’s an updated opinion on the product:

Products mentioned were puchased with my own money. I am not paid to use any of these products in my videos.

ReviewReviewReview

Thanks to trinketti who repackages ample samples of bb creams, i purchased a 10 gram sample of the ever popular (on the internet) BRTC bb cream in perfect recover. The perfect recover variant claims to be formulated for oily combination skinned people like myself. and i quote the website:
http://www.brtcstore.com/BB_Cream.html:

Applicable to: Best for Oily and troubled skin, skin that requires soothing and calming or anyone with slightly Oily skin.

•Skin that requires the effect of natural skin cover up and protection
•Skin that requires quick and easy makeup
•Skin that has acne, psoriasis, eczema or other dermatological problems.
•Skin after going through the process of peel or laser treatment

Main ingredients: Tea Tree Oil, Lavendar, Chamomile, Grapefruit Seed, Aloe vera extract, and many more Botanical Ingredients.”

pramis, i just copied and pasted that from the brtc website! Gee, ano kaya mga yun??? is it so hard to google the spelling of lavender? What are bb creams again? BB creams : “All-in-One Cosmetic Product BB CREAM = Base + Foundation + Concealer + (Natural Makeup) + Sunblock + Moisturiser + Oil Control + Healing Properties (Skin Regeneration, Pore Tightening, Skin Toning) + Optional Feature (Anti-Wrinkle/Brightening/Whitening)”. …from trinketi’s site.

So let’s see if my brtc perfect recover fit the claims.

Base + Foundation. = wow, this thing is thick! slightly thicker than my TFS skin bb cream, thicker than my missha perfect cover, way way thicker than either of my skin food bb creams. i had better luck using a foundation brush. because it’s thick it’s difficult to blend or spread out. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE! its thickness does not mean coverage with this product. i still had to layer it on twice to camouflage my purply zit scar and it’s only so so in filling in my pores. I guess my under eye circles weren’t too dark the whole week i tested out this product because i didn’t have a hard time covering them up. it doesn’t look like ly-na pearl cream Photobucket or chin chun su Photobucket oh ha how do i know? hahaha check out youtube and search ly na pearl cream baka magulat kayo.

Sunblock = it boasts an SPF of 28, i guess that’s better than the usual 20 from skin food and the face shop.

Moisturizer = I must say that this variant of BRTC did keep my dry areas, mostly everywhere except my t-zone, moisturized and the product didn’t give me any dry patches. It also didn’t break me out, in fact, it helped a couple of pimples dry or mature quickly for pimple’s cycle to go through its thing and heal.

Oil Control = for something that boasts to be THE oil control bb cream, it only did as well as my missha perfect cover (a product that doesn’t even claim to be formulated for oily combination skin but only for “normal” skin”. i was feeling the feeling some weight of “moisture” on my nose and the area around my cupid’s bow in 3 or 4 hours, at the office where there is airconditioning!

Healing properties = I mentioned that it dried up my zits quicker than if had i not used the product.

More Thoughts: There is no noticeable scent. It doesn’t rub off the way my bobbi brown foundation (oil free variant, shade in warm sand) does. There is only one shade. My foundation shade is NC25 for mac’s liquid foundations and 117 for MUFE’s HD liquid foundation so my shade borders on the pale and really fair shade, or my shade is always no. 2 for nearly all Korean face products (since the no. 1 shade is scarily-edward-cullen shade on me.). The shade of BRTC’s perfect recover can be described as a shade between the usual no.1 and no.2 whether the face product is from skinfood, tfs, laneige. So unless your foundation shade is less than nc25, mufe 117, sand for bobbi brown, buff for revlon’s color stay: be very careful in piling this cream on your face or it would not only look cake-y, you’re liable to end up looking like a prettified sister of the joker.

like other bb creams, the shade does adjust to my skin tone or is “self-correcting”. but it remains quite fair on me and it kinda looks like i’m going out rather than the “natural looking” the website proclaims.

Lasting Power: this bb cream oxidizes on me after about 6 hours. That’s typical of nearly all foundations (except for those that are long wearing like Revlon’s colorstay and other long wearing foundations.

In conclusion: I will not buy the full size of this bb cream. I also don’t get why it’s so popular. I don’t get the price tag either. It’s just a thick, very tinted moisturizer with sunblock, it doesn’t even hide my pores well. DOCTOR JART on the other hand, is another story…that’s coming up, asap.

i bought this bb cream back in may and i’ve been wearing it almost everyday since june. i think after about two months i can safely give a proper review on this bb.

FIRST THINGS FIRST, WHAT DOES BB STAND FOR? bb means blemish balm. it first came from Germany and was intended for post op coverage and treatment of cosmetic surgery in case the patient needs to go out. bb creams are supposed to be an all in one cream. short of being a blusang itim bb creams are proclaimed as the only cream you need since most of them have SPF of at least 15 or 20. most of them have moisturizing properties, are used as makeup bases or primers. some have oil controlling factors. some have whitening features. some have anti aging properties. most of all, by the very name, the product is a blemish balm. TAKE NOTE I DON’T KNOW WHAT ON GOD’S GREEN EARTH A BEBELISH BALM IS, Korean speak english and well enough so i don’t know what this “bebelish” is all about. all of these creams are supposed to help heal scarring and other forms of blemishes. it’s supposed to be a miracle cream because of its challenge of being an all in one product. I have seen the German bb cream online, but it’s like a hundred U.S.!

i wanted a bb, as in I WANTED! my first bb ever was the face shop’s skin bb cream with spf20 pa ++ click to read my review that was pretty ok except for the pinkie gray cast (parang ly-na at chin chun su) and the baby powder mixxed with dimetapp scent. i also bought the quick and clean bb cream from the face shop (review on that hahaha someday).

currently, there are only 2 big named cosmetics brands from Korea in the Philippines, they are the face shop and skinfood. this ginko bb is one of my first purchases from skin food. i’ll find out tomorrow if laneige has finally opened in trinoma, it’s been under construction for the longest time.

what’s a review without pix? here’s my bare face without anything on my face, not even moisturizer.bare facedhere’s a pic of me with the ginko bb on my facewith ginko bbwahaaa, almost no change! well, i see it, my skin tone’s evened out, there’s less of my under eye circle and some of my gray zit scars have been covered, sheerly but well enough to see it, i mean NOT see them. and an after picture setting it with my favorite tns mineral foundation, my current favorite lip and cheek stain from vmv in water melon, mascara from max factor 2000 calorie false lash effect, and tight line with prestige’s midnight blue water proof eyeliner, nudy grey geo lenses available from my trusted multiply sellers trinketi and dainty shop. since i didn’t know my grade when i got the geo lenses i bought the contacts without grades on them.Photobucket Photobucket

THOUGHTS:
as a primer/foundation: it’s a cream, it’s a whole lot easier to apply than my tfs skin bb cream, since skinfood’s ginko bb is runnier. i bought shade number 2 in natural beige. it’s yellow based and looks like any foundation as compared to dark ones like doctor jart’s bb. shade number 2 is a bit darker on my skin upon first application but it somehow adapts and as you can see my face is almost the same shade as my neck and shoulder.
as a primer, which supposed to make your makeup last longer, this ginko bb cream fails in doing that. it’s a tinted moisturizer at most in that department.

AS A SKIN CARE PRODUCT: ginko applied on the face is supposed to be an antioxidant. all i can say is, after 2 months, i’ve had no break outs with this bb. well wala rin naman kong break out with tfs skin bb, in fairness.
the cream doesn’t smell bad! it kinda smell like a plant. though some might smell a plastic-y scent, i kinda like it. does it smell like ginko? no i haven’t taken any ginko capsule/tablet that smells like this cream and i’ve been taking ginko biloba tablets for school (instead of glutaphos) since my BSPT days.

NO SPF! this is the only Skinfood bb that do not contain sun protection factor out of all the skin food bb’s. so i either wear it with neutrogena sheer water light or mix in the face shop’s skin bb.

ALMOST ZERO TO NO OIL CONTROL. i have to blot in about an hour, even with mineral foundation on top (tns’ mineral foundation has kaolin clay). i still get shiny on my t-zone almost right away. which brings me to how long it lasts.

LASTING POWER: because my face is oily nothing lasts long on it except revlon’s colorstay foundation with softplex for oily combination skin (SPF 6). the skin food ginko bb doesn’t last on my face, unless i mix it with either the neutrogena sun block or my tfs skin bb. as i write this review, there is less and less of the skin food’s ginko bb’s coverage and my pores are much more apparent now then when first applied.

THE PACKAGING: it doesn’t have a pump but it comes in an up side down tube as shown in the pic. like your rimmel stay matte foundation or your revlon active light foundation. it contains about 1.76 oz or 50 g and the tube is easy enough to squeeze out the product. None of the skin food’s bb’s come in a pump.

PRICE: may vary depending on which country you get it or from which ebay seller you get it from. i got this from the landmark skinfood stall at trinoma. (hahaha di parin sinabi yung presyo)

WILL I BUY IT AGAIN? NO. not just because of the aforementioned thoughts but i need a bb for oily skin or oily combination, and the recently released peach sake and agave cactus bb from skinfood are for such skin types.
